Case Study: Drone Video Production

The Client: Versico Roofing Systems, one of the top three single-ply roofing system manufacturers in the U.S.

The Need: Versico sponsored a product demonstration at Eikenhout roofing supply highlighting a new commercial roofing product. They needed aerial coverage of the installation, b-roll, as well as interview coverage for training and marketing use. Also, the needed principle photography to capture everything in two days.

The Production: Both days of production were partially cloudy which created a dynamic shooting environment and kept everyone on their toes. Nothing like constantly changing outdoor lighting conditions to challenge even the most talented crew. Our drone (DJI Mavic 2 PRO) handled the windy conditions perfectly and we utilized several of our ND filters to keep up with the conditions. Drone work often requires adjustments, so it’s a good thing we brought our extra batteries.

The Result: We were able to capture the content Versico needed in a timely and safe manner while learning a lot more about commercial roofing. Our drone footage has been utilized in many of their marketing materials and the overall project has led to further engagements with the client.
