Case Study: Event Video Production

The Client: One of the top five pharmaceutical companies in the world and their agency of record.

The Need: The agency of record for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world approached us to help capture event footage and interviews at a large conference in Boston. We needed to be able to capture interviews with medical experts, showcase their presentations, and cut together content on the fly for upload to WeChat via a team in mainland China.

The Production: Event work is always an exercise in hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Our three-man crew jumped between event halls, a small booth on the event floor, and reserved hotel rooms for interviews. Our original intent was to simply shoot and pass the content along to the team off-site for editing. However, it quickly became apparent that it would be better to edit together as much of the content at the point of shooting and upload for delivery due to the time-lag in China, as well as the inconsistent internet at the venue.

The Result: Allied Productions helped deliver 50 plus videos over a three-day weekend, with additional support to pull together content after the event. The videos were uploaded to WeChat and garnered tens of thousands of views.
